When asked what do you believe, what if you answered with how you live?
Open Minds, Big Hearts. These are four words that exemplify Neighborhood Unitarian Universalist Church.
We are a church that stands on the side of love. We are a church of Chalice Circles. We are a church that RISEs to meet the challenge of building homes in Tijuana and gives Sunday offerings to people outside our physical community who suffer from tsunamis and hurricanes, and within our community who need health and dental care.
Think about the word RISE. RISE can mean to ascend or grow. Neighborhood Church's membership continues to RISE, 100 new members in the last year alone.
But RISE also signifies uplifting oneself to meet a demand or a challenge. Do our lives RISE to meet the challenges of poverty, illness, discrimination, and social justice?
Neighborhood Church helps us make a difference through the four areas of church life: Relational, Intellectual, Spiritual, and Ethical. In times of indifference, cynicism, and despair, we as a spiritual community are being challenged as never before to continue our work and prove our commitment. We can make a difference together.
RISE up and meet the challenge.
