Social Groups and Events
We are an active and friendly congregation. Here are a few social groups and gatherings to consider. Try something new, make new friends, join us! For more information about these groups, please contact Membership Coordinator Kim Hayden at khayden@uuneighborhood.org

  • Neighborhood Suppers
Potluck meals hosted in member homes and in local restaurants. Gatherings held throughout the year.

  • Voyagers (Very Old Young Adult Group)
Young(ish) adult group of 25-35 year olds that gather for monthly brunches, game nights, and more. See the Voyagers Facebook Page for a list of upcoming activities.

  • People of Color
An informal group of people of color who gather together to support and discuss issues of diversity and ways to make Neighborhood Church more welcoming to people of color.

  • Dining For Dollars
Fundraiser held throughout year in which church members and friends host meals and events that others bid to attend. All proceeds benefit the church. For further information, please go to the Dining For Dollars website.

  • Motorcycle Ministry
Informal gathering of motorcycle riders that meet the last Saturday of each month for a group ride followed by lunch. All levels of expertise and CCs welcome! The Motorcycle Ministry takes the summer off (June - August) and resumes in September.

  • Camp de Benneville Pines
Summer & winter UU camp in San Bernardino Mountains, located about 90 miles east of Los Angeles. The camp is affiliated with the Pacific Southwest District Association and Unitarian Universalist Association. Neighborhood Church schedules two weekend retreats for members and friends (in summer and then in winter), but many other UU-based retreats and workshops are held throughout the year. See http://debennevillepinescamp.ning.com/ or http://www.uucamp.org/ for more information.

  • Neighborhood Meditation
Led by a church member, our meditation group gathers for quiet reflection and contemplation the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m. All experience levels are welcome.

  • Social Justice Knitting
This fun and social group meets every other Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. to knit projects that help meet the needs for warmth wherever needed. All skill levels welcome.
