The mission of Neighborhood Church is to serve the spirit as each individual understands it, to serve the educational and pastoral needs of our own community, and to serve the larger world through actions that further social justice. Our vision is for a church that will be a wellspring of liberal faith which brings together into a caring community people of varying beliefs, races, affectional orientations, ages, classes, and cultures.

We shall broaden and deepen our wellspring by providing:

An excellence of worship which focuses mystery and intellect into one, and offers spiritual renewal to all seekers.

A culture which is enhanced by the arts, especially music, for the arts are creations of the spirit.

An environment which grants refuge and inspires us with the beauty of nature.

A wide offering of educational opportunities for both children and adults that will enable us to explore the world of faith and religion, to support each other in daily living, and to create a more just and compassionate world.

A fully loving, welcoming, joyous, hopeful community whose members sustain one another through the painful and happy milestones of personal life.

Actions that further social justice, enabling us to work with all who lovingly confront the wrongs and indignities of the world.

Our vision shall come to pass by each member consciously contributing to, enhancing, and preserving our common wellspring of faith.
